JOSIE AIELLO

Josie Aiello is recognized internationally as an award-winning singer, BMI songwriter, performer and vocal arranger. Josie began her professional music career at the age of nine when she took over the stage and grabbed the microphone to sing at her mom and dad’s family-owned Sicilian restaurant in Chicago. She attended Chicago’s Academy of Performing Arts H.S and won a full scholarship to DePaul University School of Music. Her hard work and tenacity paid off when she scored her first major recording contract as a featured vocalist on Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Starlight Express with the late great Grammy award-winning producer, Phil Ramone.

While in L.A., her session work captured the attention of the legendary “Q” himself, Quincy Jones, who personally signed Josie to his Qwest/Warner Bros. Record and Publishing label. Managed by producer Andre Fischer, her, 1 st pop album Unkunvenshunal Girl was released in 2000 produced by Grammy winning writer / producer Ashley Ingram.

While successfully writing and singing on several Film and TV soundtracks, she also worked with hit songwriters, artists, and producers including Harvey Mason Jr., Diane Warren, Kuk Harrell, Patti Austin, Brenda Russell, R Kelly, Brian Culbertson, Randy Jackson, Ricky Martin, Don Henley, Chaka Khan, Narada Michael Walden, Ramsey Lewis, Joe Cocker, Peter Cetera, Bobby Womack, Bebe Winans, Steve Cole, Stephen Bray, and many more.

Patti Austin recorded and released one of Josie’s songs “Let Me Be Me” on her Warner Bros release On The Way To Love….In addition, “Kenny Loggins” recorded 2 songs with Josie on his It’s About Time CD and showcased her as a featured vocalist on his national tour. Josie also recorded vocals on major albums for “Cher”, “J. Lo”, “Enrique Iglesias”, “Jessie J”, “Cheryl Cole”, “Ciara”, and most recently “Andra Day”.

Josie’s talent earned her major soundtrack performance credits for That Thing You Do, The Out-of-Towners, South Park, Dinosaur, The Guardian, and Ghost Of Mississippi. Josie recorded “Welcome to the Sixties” with John Cleese for Marc Shaiman’s original recordings of “Hairspray The Movie” starring John Travolta. Her signature sounding high-energy vocals are also featured on national TV commercials including: “Kohl’s, McDonalds, KFC, JC Penney, Eckrich, and Big Lots. In 2016, Josie was signed to Breath Of Life Records, and released her very first Contemporary Christian album “Ashes To Beauty”, available on iTunes and Amazon.

In 2018, Josie teamed up with award winning Producer/Engineer Hal Sacks. What resulted is a two-song EP, “In The Wilderness,” featuring the funk-rock infused lead single, answered with a new production of the Wayman Tisdale and Tracy Carter instrumental, “Sunday’s Best”, featuring Josie’s new positive Gospel lyric “That’s Why I Praise Thee – Sunday’s Best.”
